Farewell to a good friend

Today we will gather our forces in the system of 1dq1-1, perched on the undock of the Imperial Palace to light cynos for our fellow ADFU pilot Padrick Gaterau. The cyno vigil is a tradition among capsuleers as a way to light the path of the next journey or path for our fallen comrades to find their way as they explore the next universe. Often we meet up and tell stories of how that pilot helped us along our way in new eden or a passing joke or even some story of how they pranked us in the past in some way. In the Imperium with so many of us within this second family, its easy to have a long standing impression or presence among our fellow pilots. Sometimes it can be as simple as always signing up to help out, or providing a comforting ear in hard times. Today, we celebrate one of the most helpful and supportive members of our corporate leadership.

Padrick came to ADFU after being a member of one of the Bastion service corporations. He was responsible for running the O-PNSN keepstar safe cyno for a long time during Bastion’s deployment to Fountain. He also stood watch as a station gunner to keep inbound pilots covered as the jumped to the cyno. I was approached by the leader of Bastion as Padrick was looking for a corporation to take him in. Carneros spoke highly of Padrick, and insisted that he had a level head and would make an excellent corporate director. ADFU was still a young corporation and still defining its leadership roles and looking for good candidates to lead its members. We welcomed him into ADFU, and so the story began. After some time, He became our recruitment director. He always had time to chat and interview prospective pilots that could / would later become new members. He spent countless hours teaching people how to add ESI to our services and tools. Keeping people connected when they freshly join us. Providing and directing our new hires to resources to help them get their feet firmly planted and headed towards fame and fortune.

Today we raise our glasses to a stellar example of a space gentleman. A guy who was always in the service of others. Thank you for your hard work, rest well my friend.
